Determining your position in football is an essential thing, and it is important to show your abilities better.
Each player must abide by the coach's orders and perform the role required of him.
Players' abilities vary according to the player's physical and mental capabilities.
Therefore, the players' positions must be classified according to their capabilities.
5. Steps Help You To Find Your Best Position
we're gonna go over it in this article. so you can start to get some ideas on what position you're gonna thrive in and stand out.
5- knowing your attributes
you need to know where you're at, what are your strengths, and what are your weaknesses, what are you good at, what are you not so good at, and what you need to work on because that's going to go a long way to determining what position you're going to thrive in.
for example, if you suck in front of a goal you're probably not going to be a striker or goal scorer or if you have no defensive discipline you're probably not going to be a center back but you need to know what it is you're good at and not good at being objective about it and honest with yourself because that's going to help you move forward.
4- outside feedback
get outside feedback from people who want to know what they're talking about and know you as a player so I'm talking about coaches or other good players that you may know and ask them for feedback, ask your coaches ask people who you trust and know the game what do you think my best position is or what do you think my best position could be getting.
That honest feedback again so long as it's honest and tell them to be honest like you're not gonna hurt my feelings or anything just be honest what do you think i need to work at what do you think I'm good at and what position do you think is best for me and if you do that a lot of people will give you honest feedback but again make sure this is someone who's seen you play a lot and knows your game.
3- feel natural and confident
feel natural and confident in this position that you believe is best for you or what position do you just feel fits like a glove a lot of times there will be a position where you just feel very natural and confident in that position and that can go a long way to making it your best position
There are certain positions i know i can play pretty competently but i don't feel as comfortable as i am in other positions.
For example, i can play center midfield and i can do a pretty good job there but i do not feel as natural and comfortable in that position as i do as say a striker or more advanced midfielder right behind the striker so i know that for myself so feel it out for yourself which you feel more comfortable and confident in and more natural in and that can give you again go a long way to determining what your best position is going to be.
2- enjoying the position
what you enjoy now you need to balance this out with what you're good at but what do you love to beat players one-on-one and you're also good at it well maybe a more winger-oriented position would be the one for you are you just someone who loves scoring goals i mean we all do i guess but love scoring goals and just you know that's really what you want to do and you're also pretty good at it you know you also want to factor in what you enjoy doing you know the original reason why did you start playing football.
Some people love just a well-timed tackle and reading the game well well for you maybe center back or center defensive mid actually would be a viable position some players are like that who love the more defensive work over the offensive work so decide you know to determine what i enjoy doing in the game and yes you're gonna have to do things you don't enjoy no matter what position you play sorry to break it to you but what position provides you with the uh opportunities to do more of what you enjoy doing in football.
1- The best chances
what gives you the best chance to have an impact and stand out look when you answer the rest of the questions we went over in this video there's gonna be a clear kind of direction in which it shows.
This position is what's going to allow me to stand out maybe you'd be okay in this position or good in this position or solid but there's a specific one that's sticking out that's like oh i would stand out and have an impact consistently and help my team in this position.
Maybe you want to play striker but you'd have much more of an impact at a much different position maybe right back left back as a winger who knows what it is.
maybe you want to play midfield because you like seeing the ball a lot but your attributes and what you're good at making you more of an again like a center back or maybe a winger or something like that.
so really ultimately if you're looking to move up levels what is the position you should train for it's going to allow you to stand out and in a way make a name for yourself in a way kind of makes it so that when you play it's obvious that you're doing well in your position and you're a good player what position on the pitch gives you that best opportunity now once you know what your best position is and you're starting to play there more you're going to want to know some habits that are going to help you to stand out in your matches as well that just goes a long way for every player.
